Zest Spa Etiquette
Appointments
What do I have to keep in mind for my first visit?
For your first visit, please ask for directions if you are not sure where we are. As your appointments are made specifically for you and your designated treatment, timing is essential.
Our Guest Relations Manager will make your appointment and will tell you what time you are due and what time you will finish. Please write down your appointment so that you don’t forget. If you are required to bring anything you will be told when making your appointment.
Do I need to pre-pay for my treatment?
No, treatments can be paid for on the day. However, if your appointment is over 1 hour or requires more than one therapist, you will be asked for your credit card details to secure your appointment. If you have a "no show" history with us, you will be required to leave your credit card details with us for ALL appointments.
What will happen to my credit card?
Nothing, unless you do not turn up for your appointment or don’t give us enough notice to reschedule.
As your appointment has been made for you and you only, Zest puts aside the time to pamper you and cannot take any other clients. For the consideration of other clients who may want your appointment and our staff, we have a cancellation policy.
Zest has a 50% cancellation fee if we receive less than 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. 100% if you do not show up for your appointment. Your credit card will be debited and a receipt sent to you for the amount charged.
What happens if I am late?
If you do run late for an appointment please call and let the salon know how long you will be so that they can make arrangements. If we can move other appointments we will, otherwise we will do as much as we can in the allocated booked time. We will not run into other appointment times and you will be charged the full amount of your booking. This also applies to promotional visits.
What time should I arrive for my first appointment?
It is Spa etiquette to arrive 10 mins before your first appointment. This allows you to be comfortable and and gives you enough time to fill-in a confidential client information form and have a herbal tea. This form is compulsory for all clients and will only be filled out once. Information is kept strictly confidential.
For regular clients, it is advisable to arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time.
Shower Facilities
To visit a Day Spa, you are required to arrive "fresh". This means that if you are coming directly from the gym or playing sport etc, you will be required to take a shower. We have facilities available but you must arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to fit this in. If you do not, your treatment time may be cut-down.
Waxing
First time waxers are often nervous about what will happen in the Spa and what they should do to prepare. We believe that spa etiquette for waxing is a combination of preparation and consideration.
Brazilian waxing is very common. 9 out of 10 clients request this type of waxing. Our Therapists are all trained and highly experienced in this area. We understand that for your first time you may feel some embarrassment or fear. We make this experience as quick and pain free as possible. We all wax at the salon and can relate to how you are feeling.
Here are some helpful tips:
Do I need to have a shower before my wax?
It is assumed that you will arrive at the salon “fresh”. If you have arrived from a busy day at work or after exercise, please make time and ask to use our showering facilities. This allows you and your therapist to feel comfortable. If you do not have time for a shower, refresh yourself in our bathroom facilities before your treatment.
What do I need to do to prepare at home?
For first time Brazilian waxing, it is best for you to trim the area (it will hurt less)
What do I wear whilst waxing?
Wear your own underwear, use a pair of disposable underwear provided by us, or wear nothing at all! Choose what makes you feel most comfortable.
What kind of wax is used?
At Zest we use the highest quality wax on the market. For sensitive areas such as facial waxing, bikini and underamr, we use hot wax. For all other areas we use strip wax in a hygienic roll on cartridge method.
Does Brazilian mean: "all hair removed?"
Yes, however you can ask for a little "something" to be left if you like. This is quite common.
How long before I re-appoint for another wax?
It depends on your hair growth. We suggest every 4-6 weeks for all types of waxing.
Pedicures
Do I need to bring anything?
Yes, please bring open toed shoes. It takes a long time for your toes to be dry enough to put into shoes without marking. If you forget to bring your shoes, we can provide disposable thongs for an additional cost.
Body Treatments
Will I be naked for my treatment?
No, not entirely. We will supply you with disposable underwear to wear during your treatment. For men, we ask that you bring along with you a pair of speedos or similar.
What if I am shy and do not want to be exposed?
We see hundreds of bodies a week and each one is unique and special. However, we understand that clients may feel uncomfortable naked in front of their therapist. You are welcome to wear a swim suit if you wish.
Will my hair get wet?
In the water therapy treatments, your hair will get wet. We do the best we can to minimise this, however it is important that this doesnt get in the way of you luxurious treatment. For dry body treatments it is possible that your hair will become oily from the products used, again we do everything we can to avoid this.
You are welcome to take advantage of our hair section and have a wash and blow dry after your treatment.
Massage
Zest’s Massage therapists use a combination of Swedish, Relaxation, Pressure Point & Hawaiian techniques in their massage treatments. Let us know what kind of pressure your prefer and your main area of concern and we can customise your treatment for you.

Please see the pregnancy section of this site and browes the many treatments on offer to you. They have been customised for your special needs. Please let guest relations know that you are pregnant when you make your booking.
